Dental Technology

Diagnostic tools that help us evaluate oral health, plan treatment, and explain findings clearly.

At Cape & Islands Periodontics and Oral Surgery, dental technology supports careful diagnosis and treatment planning. The right imaging and treatment tools help us evaluate teeth, gums, bone, and nearby anatomy more clearly before recommending care.

Cone-Beam CT Scan

A cone-beam CT scan creates a three-dimensional view of teeth, bone, nerve pathways, and related structures. We may use cone-beam CT imaging when standard X-rays do not provide enough information, especially for implant planning, surgical evaluation, or assessment of complex anatomy.

Digital Impressions

Digital impressions use an optical scanner to capture detailed images of the teeth and soft tissues without traditional impression material. These scans can improve comfort, support restorative planning, and help us coordinate treatment accurately.

LANAP Laser

The LANAP laser supports minimally invasive periodontal treatment by targeting diseased tissue while helping preserve healthy structures. It is one of the tools we use when regenerative periodontal care is appropriate.
